Stellar M22 BLACK

A Lumenis platform with two handpieces: broadband light (IPL) to work on skin tone, pigmentation and thread veins, and the non-ablative ResurFX fractional laser.

Lumenis · IPL and ResurFX fractional laser

One device, several different skin therapies

Stellar M22 BLACK is a modular platform by Lumenis. We use it with two handpieces. The first is broadband light (IPL): not a laser, but a strong pulse of wide-spectrum light that interchangeable filters match to a specific skin concern. The second is ResurFX, a non-ablative fractional laser that works in the deeper layers of the skin without breaking the epidermis.

We use IPL most often for pigmentation, vascular changes, redness and rosacea, and for photorejuvenation, meaning an improvement in overall tone and skin texture. We suggest ResurFX for scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and whenever the aim is to improve skin density. Both handpieces can be combined in one visit, a treatment called Photofabulous. Results build up gradually, which is why we usually perform these treatments as a series.

What the visit looks like

  1. 01

    Consultation and qualification

We assess the condition of the skin, your medical history and any medication you take. The cosmetology consultation is free.

  2. 02

    Preparation

We cleanse the skin and protect your eyes with goggles. Before IPL we apply gel, and before the ResurFX laser we use a local anaesthetic.

  3. 03

    The treatment

Pulses are applied to the marked area. With IPL you feel warmth and light pricks, often compared to the flick of a rubber band.

  4. 04

    After the treatment

We cool the skin and apply a soothing preparation and sunscreen. You receive home care instructions in writing.

  5. 05

    Follow-up visits

We set the date of the next treatment after assessing how your skin responded, usually after three to four weeks.
